Whether its biking, hiking, gold panning, kayaking, sight-seeing, golfing or fishing, Lillooet offers adventures big and small to suit any interest and to fit any budget.
Accommodations in the area come in all shapes and sizes. There are a variety of bed and breakfasts, hotels, motels, guest ranches and a four star lodge at Tyaughton Lake. For those looking for a close-to-nature experience, there are 5 private campgrounds offering a total of 153 sites. BC Parks maintains 115 developed campsites in four parks in the area:
Skihist Park Goldpan Park Marble Canyon Park Duffey Lake Park.
BC Hydro also maintains campsites at Gunn Creek, Big Horn Creek and Cayoosh Creek. There are also various primitive camping opportunities available.
The area boasts over 14 trail systems with more than 200 kilometers of trails to explore. Some of these trails, such as the Caribou Wagon Road, or the old mining trails in the Taylor basin, offer the chance to relive a little history.
Whether you want to walk, climb, ride a horse or bike, ATV or drive your own vehicle, you will find opportunities here. You can make your own way, or take advantage of the knowledgeable staff from businesses offering guided backcountry adventures, guided angling & treking, nature or cultural tours, mountain biking tours or chartered air service, just to name a few ideas.
For water sports, check out the internationally acclaimed white water rafting on the Thompson River, or take a sightseeing trip down the historic Fraser River. Fishing opportunities abound from Thompson River steelhead to remote alpine lakes (Please! Check the B.C. Sport Fishing Regulations for local restrictions.)
Lillooet offers spectacular winter recreation too, so check out sites for a return trip later in the year for snowmobiling, cross country skiing, ski touring, ice climbing, and hunting
