On Thursday, March 13, 2009 the Ministry of Tourism, Culture & the Arts will be in Williams Lake at the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association Office board room, suite 204, 350 Barnard Street to update us on the Community Cultural Tourism Strategy, which was first announced last fall by Minister Bill Bennett. The Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association would like you to join us to be part of this important dialogue, and asks if you can bring along someone from the arts and culture sector in your community that can also provide some valuable insight into this process. Opportunities exist for communities across the province to develop their own cultural tourism strategy, with the tools and resources that the Ministry is planning on providing. Over the past few months, the Ministry has been meeting with influential leaders in the tourism and culture industries and have begun to draft the strategy as a plan to support community-level development. However, it is important that they hear from the very community stakeholders they hope to help, with a strategy that is implementable and that enhances the work already done in community tourism.
Tuesday, March 13, 2009 RSVP to Bruce Whyte, cultural tourism advisor, at with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts (bruce.whyte@gov.bc.ca), as soon as possible. |
